A wonderful article in the Times this week on a topic that is close to our hearts on how amazing the UK is when it comes to the creative and digital industries.
In January, government figures showed that the UK’s creative industries were worth £84.1 billion to the economy ... and grew by 8.9 per cent – nearly double the rate of the economy as a whole. At the same time, jobs in creative occupations climbed to almost 2.8 million.
That means the creative economy accounts for just under 9 per cent of all UK jobs. Add the fact that a sixth of UK graduate jobs are within the creative economy, and you see the critical role the sector has to play in the UK’s future.
